The view looking outward from a parking garage on 31st Street, NW in Washington, DC. This painting was awarded 2nd Place Oil in the exhibition Landscape, Seascape and Cityscape in May, 2017. The exhibit was at the Tampa Regional Artists Gallery in South Tampa, FL.
Craig was born and raised in the New York City Metro area. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Studio Art from Middlebury College and did additional course work at Dartmouth College and The New Hampshire Institute of Art, studying under Christopher Pothier. After receiving his degree from Middlebury, Craig found himself in the world of professional photography and moved away from painting for many years. Wherever he traveled throughout the United States, he always took his camera and captured thousands of images, gathering source material for paintings. Over the past twenty-five years he has rediscovered painting, and the photographs he created have come to life in his rich, evocative pieces. Using the classic painting technique...
